Few things are as simple as making a frozen daiquiri using a premix. Many products are available, and it may take some trial and error to figure out which products suit your personal tastes. Some products use real fruit in their drink mixes, making them ideal choices for authentic flavor.

Some of the mixes are very convenient because they simply involve adding liquor and ice to the mix and putting it in a blender. For ultra convenience, some products are actually freezable, requiring nothing more than adding the liquor and freezing the drink for a few hours before serving.

The Modern Daiquiri

Today, the daiquiri is a popular vacation and party libation, and you can see it being sipped on the beaches of Florida, at backyard summer grill parties and in bars and clubs across the country. The typical modern version is a blended drink with ice, fruit and rum. This concoction is usually sipped through a straw and garnished with the ubiquitous mini umbrella. Other popular garnishes include a slit fresh strawberry and even whipped cream!

A virgin daiquiri is usually just a non-alcoholic daiquiri -- in other words, it just omits the rum. However, there are ways to make the non-alcoholic drink much more interesting with additions such as lemon-lime soda and fresh lime juice.

Muddle the strawberry and syrup in the shaker. Add the remaining ingredients and ice, and shake well. Double-strain through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled cocktail or coupe glass. Garnish with a strawberry and/or a lime wheel.

If you’d prefer to serve it blended, add all ingredients to the blender along with 2-4 extra berries and a small cupful of crushed ice. Blend until it’s as smooth as you’d like, adding more crushed ice as needed if it’s too thin.

Strawberry Daiquiri

Summer is on and so is the heat. May is National Strawberry month! What a perfect way to beat the heat than a chilled glass of Strawberry Daiquiri! Strawberry Daiquiri is an excellent cocktail for the warm days of summer. It’s a sweet, a little bit tangy, refreshing, and irresistible drink.

Strawberry Daiquiri is made from either fresh or frozen strawberries. You can make it frozen and/or shaken. I’ll share with you both versions. What’s your preference?

Strawberry Daiquiri is a blended cocktail, served as a boozy, fresh fruit smoothie. All you need is few ingredients: Rum, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, fresh/frozen strawberries. I like to use white rum but you can use your choice of rum. I use a combination of fresh and frozen strawberries. The ingredients are super simple but yield a super delicious daiquiri especially if the strawberries are sweet and perfectly ripe.

How to Make a Strawberry Daiquiri:

  • I like to use fresh strawberries along with frozen ones. This way daiquiri tastes very refreshing. But if there are no strawberries in the season, you can use only frozen ones.
  • Using frozen strawberries eliminates the use of ice. Also, frozen strawberries give a beautiful frozen slushie consistency and do not water down the strawberry flavor. I freeze lots of strawberries so that I can use them year-round.
  • Simple syrup is very easy to make. You just heat up sugar and water until sugar melts. You can infuse this sugar syrup with your mint, rosemary, or your choice of herbs.
  • You will also need fresh lime juice and your choice of Rum. I like to use white rum which is light.
  • Blend it all up in your blender.
  • Enjoy!

This is such an easy cocktail recipe and it’s a classic for parties and gatherings. This Strawberry Daiquiri will be a hit if you are hosting a BBQ party or a get-together with friends. I’m sure you and your guests would love it.

Strawberry Daiquiri Cocktail differs from classic recipes, only in the use of frozen strawberries or strawberry syrup. The frozen limeade is what makes the drink slushy when served. For a slightly less alcoholic version, you can acheive a similar result using lime juice instead of limeade and by adding a few ice cubes in the blender.
